We Need A Real Democracy!
On October 15th citizens around the world will take to the streets to express outrage at how our rights are being undermined by the alliance between politicians and big corporations.
From Democracia real YA (Real Democracy Now) we invite you to participate in this peaceful protest by joining our call to action or by calling for other actions on this date. It is time to raise our voice. Our future is at stake, and nothing can hold back the power of millions of people when they unite for a common goal.
Democracia real YA is a platform that originated in Spain to coordinate various civil mobilization groups. Under the slogan “We are not goods in the hands of politicians and bankers”, thousands of people took to the streets on May 15th to demand a more participatory democracy, to reject corruption in Spain’s political system, and to show our opposition to the austerity measures imposed on us.
Following the success of that first demonstration, several movements emerged. Acampadas (tent cities) were set up in central squares across the country, much like the first occupation of Tahrir Square in Cairo.
The acampadas gave rise to popular assemblies, where citizens shape their goals through an inclusive non-hierarchal decision making process. The May 15 movement soon expanded beyond Spanish borders and inspired actions in numerous cities around the world, including a mass demonstration against the Euro Pact last June 19th.
Pressured by financial powers, our political leaders work for the benefit of just a few, regardless of the social, human or environmental cost this may cause. By promoting wars for profit and impoverishing whole populations, our ruling classes are depriving us of our right to a free and just society.
That’s why we invite you to join this peaceful fight and spread the message that together we have the ability to change this intolerable situation. Let’s take to the streets on October 15th. It’s time for them to listen to us. United we will make our voices heard!
On October 15th people from all over the world will take to the streets and squares. From America to Asia, from Africa to Europe, people are rising up to claim their rights and demand a true democracy. Now it is time for all of us to join in a global nonviolent protest.
The ruling powers work for the benefit of just a few, ignoring the will of the vast majority and the human and environmental price we all have to pay. This intolerable situation must end.
United in one voice, we will let politicians, and the financial elites they serve, know it is up to us, the people, to decide our future.
We are not goods in the hands of politicians and bankers who do not represent us.
On October 15th, we will meet on the streets to initiate the global change we want. We will peacefully demonstrate, talk and organize until we make it happen.

The United States is not, and never has been a democracy. A “total democracy” would implode in but a few short years. There has never in the history of humankind a “total democracy”, and that is because rational minds were employed.

Having read and analyzed your piece on “Three-Dimensional Democracy”, I stand by every word and syllable of my original comment. I’m also curious vis-a-vis whom you refer to as “Liberal Democracies”.
I refer by “Liberal Democracies” to all Western governments on both sides of the Atlantic plus those developing countries who are following their models, including India and Brazil, regardless of the political vision of the ruling party/parties. In brief, it is partisan system with conventional electoral representation.
But why not change the structure and processes of democracy by bring all communities and unions into the system and reduce the influence of political parties?

Another view of a solution to the problem of democracy: let us make the number of lions a dozen or more, and teach the gazelle how to make traps. They must live together because it would be wrong to assume one is evil to be eliminated and the other is good to be kept.
Actually study — long and hard and thoroughly — the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. You in the process must not only understand English well, but the language as of the 1780s. Even modern Europe after 1650 was built on shaky grounds but the only peaceful way out is through true democratization.
When, Tarig Anter, not if, the United States implodes, and that will be soon, very very soon, it will be an experience totally new to anyone on the planet alive today. When England just ceased to function in 1942, the United States stepped immediately into the void and breach.
There is no power to keep the world safe today, absent the United States.. This will, indeed, be ugly.
Divisions and system collapse in Europe in the 17 Century that led to assassinations and to widespread warfare came perilously close to total disaster. Yes, the World now is playing with much more catastrophic tools and weapons.

First I have to tell you that I don’t believe in the democracy as the political and economic people told us. Democracy is an abused word !
It does not mean nothing, or better it means freedom for those want to devastate the economies, the story, the cultures, the traditions and other particular things of every country and every nation.
This is the hill began very far from now and this hill, as a virus, has infected the entire world. There is no salvation if you have not been vaccinated and to get it you have to paid much more with you life, your families, your habits, your cultures.
Is this the price we want to paid for this kind of democracy?
Right now, all over the world, many kind of people are on the street protesting against bankesters, against Financial Club, against the IMF, the World Bank, the Fed and so on, but who are spending all that money to organize these demonstrations? Anyone of you have ask to itself about it? And Do you think that the power can lead someone to subvert their power for nothing?
Many dictators in the history were born in this way and all of them got money from those who they wanted to fight. This is a matter to think about.

Occupy Wall Street and Ron Paul are different but together they are the only hopes for the US and the World right now.
Obama must go!
Ron Paul is implementing a good strategy. If things keep going the way they are he is going to force the neo-con Republican party to reject the Constitution out in the open where all can see.
Then his forces can start new drive to elect Dr. Paul as the people’s Independent candidate, putting the burden on the phony left and the phony right to not only attack one another but the Constitution and the people at the same time.
No matter what lies they try to put forth through the mainstream propaganda machine they cannot change the fact that the protesters are united as individual free citizens fighting for the re-institution of the Republic under the Constitution and as such they cannot be defeated.
In short, Dr. Paul is using the Republican platform and the exposure it offers to get the message out for as long as possible.
I think the two-party-single-direction system is coming to its natural death and the new generations are more aware and will not accept anything less than deep changes.
You know what is happen in Rome and this is just an example what power can do. Many people were fighiting black blocks, but surely they don’t know nothing what about thery are protesting.
People have never changed anything in the world and history teach very well…but the reality is on the open air and many eyes watch, but that is not enough to change.
This is only my opinion in this moment and I hope to change it for one light that can light this dark world.
To achieve healthy capitalism and to protect the people from corporate abuses and corruption a new universal system of labeling of all products and services must be designed and implemented globally. The ingredients of each product or service are composed from not only the physical components but more importantly from the processes involved in the final output.
All corporations and businesses in general must be held accountable and be observed by consumers, employees, the community, and the state departments. For this purpose a tagging system shall be put in place to measure and publicize on any product and any service on the performance of the production business for the total and each of at least the following issues:
Executive pay
Excessive advertisement
Unfair advertisement
Labor welfare
Unions’ participation
Capital distribution
Political leverage
Environmental responsibility
Social contributions
Fair play
Equal opportunities
Financial transparency
